Grades of musicianship

The new Associated Examining Board of the Royal Schools of Music are proposing the following new classifications for all music exams:

Grade Grade A Grade B Grade C Grade D
Musical Standard Can make a tuba sing like a nightingale Can make a trombone swing like a monkey Can make a trumpet swing like a road sign Can make a clarinet squawk like a parrot
Concert dress Tired tatty suit and bow tie Worn suit and full tie Sparkling new suit and shiny shoes T-Shirt and jeans
Repertoire Rachmaninov Beethoven Handel Ronnie Hazlehurst
